PORTOFINO COAST
Portofino Coast offers a wide array of interesting excursions. Cruise along the coast by boat to the characteristic towns of Portofino, San Fruttuoso and Camogli, or take the cable car up to the Montallegro Shrine in Rapallo, and enjoy the fascinating view on the entire Gulf of Tigullio.
For a pleasant stroll to simply enjoy the beautiful views or for more ambitious trail hikes, the Mount of Portofino and the valleys of the hinterland offer nature lovers a variety of possibilities.
A drive along the Via Aurelia, the scenic route which connects the various coastal towns, offers spectacular views of the area, while leisurely stops at the various towns such as Santa Margherita Ligure, Rapallo, Zoagli, Chiavari, Lavagna, or Sestri Levante are perfect for shopping, entertainment and culture.
From Portofino Coast, visiting two others nearby important tourist destinations is simple: Genoa and the "Cinque Terre" departure. |

CINQUE TERRE
One full day allows enough time for and excursion to the famous Cinque Terre, a specially charming destination, located east to Moneglia, toward La Spezia. These five small towns (Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, Riomaggiore) cling to the high, rugged coast, where vineyards sloping miraculously down to the sea produce wines of excellent quality. Easily reached by sea or train, they are the point of departure for beautiful excursions and walks along paths such as the famous "Via dell'Amore", following the high shore from Riomaggiore to Manarola. |

GENOA
Powerful Maritime Republic, for many centuries the pulsating heart of sea traffic in the Mediterranean. Today Genoa is a city rich in art and culture, in addition to its important shipping industry, surging with newfound energy in its challenge to launch the city's significant artistic and cultural patrimony. From the Old Port, surrounded by the narrow alleys or "Carruggi" of the historical centre, dating back to the Middle Ages, to the splendid streets of Renaissance Genoa, with its precious churches, rich palaces and museums, to 19th century Genoa and its elegant, wideopen spaces, now devoted to shopping, then back to the sea, with its beautiful promenade, or up to the hills, dotted with Fortresses, for a fascinating and realistic trip back to the past. Genoa's Aquarium is a wonderful way to become acquainted with the world beneath the sea, with its extraordinary array of species exhibited in giant tanks. |
