In Liguria, just as in every other Italian Region, local cooking varies from place to place. Even today, the particular qualities of this land squeezed between the sea and the mountains are reflected in its cooking.
Light dishes low in fat but rich in flavour, thanks to the clever use of products of the earth the aromatic herbs found along the coast such as oregano, sagé, rosemary, marjoram and those growing inland, such as thyme and rue.
Mushrooms and vegetables such as borage, used in pasta fillings, or basil, the key ingredient for the famous pesto sauce, olives and pine-seeds harvested from the trees, also used to make extra virgin olive oil and olive paté, products from the sea, fished each day by the fleets of fishing boats from Camogli, Santa Margherita Ligure and Sestri Levante, whose flavour is best appreciated in the typical recipes of Ligurian cuisine.

A Liberty –style villa directly overlooking the splendid Paradise Gulf. Winter garden veranda and terrace with a view on the old fishing harbour of Camogli.
Specialised in seafood.

In his restaurant, located in a "villa" with panoramic terrace on the hills of Santa Margherita Ligure, with an enchanting view on the Tigullio Gulf, the cuisine offered by restaurateur Cesare Frati is light and refined, distinguished by the superior quality of the ingredients used, the meticulous preparation of the dishes and the warm, friendly ambience.
Dishes of international cuisine, and personal interpretations of traditional Ligurian recipes along with a rich selection of wines, turn every lunch or dinner a unique occasion.
Of the same ownership the "Oca Bianca" restaurant, in Santa Margherita Ligure, offers meat specialities.

Here hospitality is a story that began with Mauelina, a remarkable woman of the 1800’s who started out with a simple tavern on the outskirts of Recco.
Her cheese focaccia and her special touch in the preparation of other typical local dishes gradually won over even the elite Genoese society and the upper class holiday clientele that visited the Riviera at the turn of the century.
Today many things have changed, but the pleasure of hospitality and the flavour of cheese focaccia and many other specialities can still be enjoyed in this historic restaurant.

Here one dines among olive trees typical of the Ligurian countryside in an original restaurant which is just as well-known for its impressive collection of cartoon art.
The surrounding garden produces vegetables which are freshly picked and featured in the menu almost all year round, together with local wild herbs which grows on Portofino Promontory.
Other specialities include home-baked bread and focaccia, vegetable quiches, Genoese minestrone, porcini and other wild mushrooms, lamb chops, roast suckling pig with applesauce, pear cake with chocolate, home-made ice cream and sorbets. Indoor seating available for 90 plus 60 on the terrace.
Located in San Massimo at 2 Km from the Rapallo motorway toll station and 4 Km from Rapallo centre.
Open dinner only every evening ( except Wednesdays) and lunch Sundays ( August open every evening). Major credit cards ( except American Express).
